Commercial Helicopter License
The Heli Dynamic Commercial Helicopter Pilot training program will prepare you for a career in aviation with a focus on helicopter operations.
Our experienced instructors will focus on an essential part of commercial pilot training, mastering the art of decision-making and risk management.
These skills are critical, as commercial pilots often fly in more challenging conditions and must manage additional responsibilities compared to private pilots.
The training also focuses on developing leadership and communication skills, ensuring you are prepared to handle the demands of commercial flight operations.
Following the completion of ground school, you will commence intensive flight training. The CPL curriculum is structured to refine your flying skills to a professional standard. You will learn advanced flight manoeuvres, emergency response techniques, and how to operate with precision and safety under various conditions.
Flight training for the CPL(H) is comprehensive, including advanced navigation, flying by instruments, extended cross-country flights, and complex operational procedures. This training ensures that you are well-prepared not only to pass the rigorous practical test but to operate safely and efficiently in a commercial environment.
What’s Involved?
The process begins with a ground school curriculum where you’ll learn all the necessary theoretical knowledge to be a competent pilot. This includes studying air law, helicopter aerodynamics, navigation, meteorology, and human factors. These classes prepare you for the written exams and give you a solid foundation in the principles of flight and safe helicopter operation. The ground school is also a great place to meet fellow aviation enthusiasts and begin networking within the flying community.
Following ground school, you will start the practical flight training. This is where you’ll learn to handle the helicopter under various conditions and master the skills needed to fly safely. Your training will include pre-flight preparations, airport operations, hovering, take-offs and landings, emergency procedures, and cross-country flying. This hands-on training is conducted in the cockpit with an experienced instructor by your side, ensuring you receive personalized guidance tailored to your pace and ability.
Safety Procedures
Safety is paramount in aviation, and part of your training will focus on understanding and managing the risks associated with helicopter flying. You will learn about the importance of decision-making, risk assessment, and maintaining situational awareness at all times. This training not only makes you a safer pilot but also enhances your confidence as you take command of the aircraft.
