Robinson R44

Since 1992, the Robinson Helicopter Company has been producing the Robinson R44, a four-seat light helicopter.

Evolved from the company’s two-seat Robinson R22 model, the R44 is distinguished by its hydraulically assisted flight controls and a more robust engine.

Its inaugural flight took place on March 31, 1990, and it received FAA certification in December 1992, with initial deliveries starting in February 1993.

Consistently acclaimed as the world’s top-selling general aviation (GA) helicopter since 1999, the R44 has garnered widespread popularity.

Throughout the 21st century, it has emerged as one of the most prolifically manufactured GA aircraft, with a staggering 5,941 units delivered between 2001 and 2020.
